Cynthia Moore is a licensed social worker (LMSW) and board-certified music therapist with over 15 years of experience working with mental illness and substance use disorders. In 2007, she earned her B.S. in music therapy from Texas Women's University and in 2017, a graduate degree, MSW, from the University of Texas in Arlington. She has experience with teens as well as adults, including veterans, in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Cynthia currently holds a certificate in trauma and believes everyone will experience some type of trauma in their lifetime, and it is how we mitigate trauma that affects our quality of life.
Cynthia is also actively involved in the community as the founder and CEO of Be Natural Music Therapy and Wellness. With the dedication and support of the “Be Natural” team, she hopes to impact the underserved communities through mental health awareness training, self-expression workshops and relaxation training classes. Her vision for “Be Natural” was born out of a desire to improve the mental and physical outcomes of the marginalized population.
Cynthia enjoys teaching various somatic-based coping and stress management strategies including qigong/tai chi, mindfulness, breath work, relaxation and guided meditation. She passionately believes that awareness of self is a key determinant of resilience and knowing yourself is most of the battle.
Being cognizant of our strengths and struggles as well as our values, beliefs and goals affects our life decisions. Cynthia’s favorite quote is by Steven Furtick, “The conclusion you come to is based on the belief you start with.”
